Regional Reserve Consultant/Expert, Senior

Key Role:

Provide professional leadership and regional reserve subject matter expertise, including reserve security and policing support to the borders, critical infrastructure and facilities, protected natural geography, and national festivals. Support senior client meetings and provide input on relevant matters to enable the sectors’ overall transformation. Demonstrate expertise in superb client delivery by diplomatically coordinating and providing support to the client and various organizations which contribute to accomplishing the regional reserve mission. Provide technical writing, guidance, advice, and training. Demonstrate expertise in teamwork by collaborating with onsite assigned personnel. This position is located in MENA with limited visits back to the US.


Basic Qualifications:

-18+ years of experience as a US military officer at the O4-O6 level or E9 level with interagency, national, or international regional reserve agencies and programs with no more than 2 years out of the corresponding agency and willing to live in the MENA region for at least 1 year

-5+ years of experience as a civilian with federal, regional, or local law enforcement agencies in border control and security, customs and immigration, public safety and security, or critical infrastructure protection services with no more than 2 years out of the corresponding agency and willing to live in the MENA region for at least 1 year

-Experience with providing federal civilian agency or military expertise in one or more of the following areas: land and maritime customs and border enforcement regulatory policies and procedures, planning and directing the patrolling of international land borders and coastal waters in the US, customs and immigration enforcement or border control for either coastal waters or international land borders in the US, and security assistance and cooperation in Foreign Military Sales and International Military Education and Training to improve regional reserve or facilities security forces capabilities

-Experience with directing and assessing crime prevention and response at the local, state, or federal level for persons or property

-Experience with force planning, training, equipping, and resource security forces (DOTMLPF+)

-Experience with planning, coordinating, and directing sensitive site or critical facilities security and protection, including petroleum refineries, national and regional electrical grid facilities, dams, waterways, or desalination plants

-Experience with cross ministry security coordination through local, state, regional, or federal levels and planning, coordinating, and directing sensitive site or facilities security, including crowd, access, or route controls

-Experience with public affairs or strategic communications in a coalition nation environment to support public assistance and civil support to authorities in securing maritime strategic resources and critical infrastructure

-Experience with developing high-quality deliverables using various tools, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint

-Ability to obtain a security clearance


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with deployments and working overseas

-Experience with foreign military personnel related to security assistance and cooperative programs

-Experience with the Arabic language a plus

-Experience with working in the Middle East a plus

-MA or MS degree preferred
