Regulatory Research Oversight Consultant, Senior

Key Role:

Provide research oversight and compliance support, including processing reportable events and adjudicating cases of research misconduct. Provide guidance to institutions on matters related to human subjects’ protections and research integrity or misconduct. Contribute to policies and procedures relating to the human research protections and research misconduct. Maintain records by 32 CFR 219 and DoD policy, as required. Develop and maintain training curriculum. Provide program support for an electronic management system, including developing and tracking deliverables, meeting logistics and minutes, and supporting training needs. Conduct audits and site visits in support of assurance oversight and renewal.


Basic Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience with the protection of human and animal subjects in research

-Experience with overseeing research in support of an HRPP

-Experience in working with and supporting Institutional Review Board (IRB) functions

-Knowledge of FDA regulations, Privacy Act, Privacy Rule, Research Integrity, and misconduct, or federal oversight of research contracts or research grants

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree and 4 years of experience with the protection of human and animal subjects or MA or MS degree


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with a DoD HRPP

-Knowledge of Research with Humans, including 32 CFR 219, 48 CFR 207, 235, and 252 and DoD

3216.02 and Research with Animals, including 9 CFR 2, 7 USC 2131-2156, and DoDI 3126.01

-Knowledge of HIPAA as it pertains to research with humans

-Knowledge of animal care and use regulations and researching misconduct

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Secret clearance

-Professional certification appropriate to research regulatory oversight, including Certified IRB Professional (CIP), Certified Professional IACUC Administrator (CPIA), and Certified Clinical Research Professionals (CCRP)

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
