Requirements Analyst

The Charleston Digital Hub of Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking qualified candidates for a Requirements Analyst position in the Charleston, SC area.

The Charleston Digital Hub operates and executes much like a fast-paced software development startup within the larger organization. We thrive in a high-energy, open office atmosphere that fosters creativity and innovation. We wake up in the morning ready to have fun and talk tech. We have dogs in the office, ping pong in the breakroom, and t-shirts trump ties, but most importantly - we focus on surrounding our team members with people who are enthusiastic about working, learning, and growing, and most importantly, having fun together!

Requirements Analysts provide a crucial link between our clients and development teams. They understand both sides of the game, so they can break down real business problems into functional requirements and user stories. Requirements Analysts are responsible for storyboarding the entire system; they work with everyone from UI/UX designers to solutions architects to test engineers to map the client’s vision. Additionally, they develop and run use cases to ensure the system is functioning properly as intended.

The day-to-day of a Requirements Analyst might include:

-Developing specific requirements to serve as the build-to specification for development.

-Serving as the development team representative during user acceptance testing for the purpose of clarifying the intended functional behavior of the software.

-Managing requirements using web based requirements management packages.

-Prioritizing which requirements to include in a specific software release by identifying relationships and dependencies between requirements and estimation of technical effort.

-Serving as the product owner and liaison between the technical team and the client for the purpose of establishing a common understanding of requirements and the as-built product.

-Contributing to the preparation for and delivery of software system demonstrations to the user community.
