Research and Development Strategy Consultant

Key Role:

Apply deep technical knowledge of electronics, photonics, MEMS, and related fields to support the most advanced research and development (R&D) agency within the DoD. Inform investments into the future of the semiconductor industry by leveraging a deep comprehension of the office’s technical portfolio and current industry trends. Coordinate tailored research efforts with SES-level clients within the agency and across the DoD, focusing on project management, progress tracking, technical presentations, and the development of R&D strategies. Translate technical ideas and issues within the field of microelectronics into comprehensible and concise statements for scientific, commercial, defense, and policy audiences. Work with and coordinate activities across senior personnel within the government and leading commercial technology companies, including planning, organizing, and leading tasks to completion.


Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience with coordination, project management, or progress tracking

-3+ years of experience with document creation, coordination, and editing

-3+ years of experience with writing and using Microsoft Office products

-1+ years of experience in working with government officials

-Experience in the semiconductor and microelectronics fields

-Experience with research and development agencies or organizations

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-MS degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with providing analysis and support to defense research and development programs

-Experience with technical writing, editing, and product development

-Experience with both scientific research and science policy

-Experience with management, business development, or venture capital

-Ability to commit to on-time performance and strict attention to detail

-Ability to produce high quality written deliverables, including policy memos, reports, technical papers, and presentations

-Ability to exhibit flexibility, adaptability, and a team orientation

-Possession of excellent client service skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Secret clearance preferred

-PhD degree in a technical area, preferably Microelectronics or a related field
