RF System Engineer

Key Role:

Join a team of RF system engineering experts. Design RF systems to meet coverage, reliability, and availability requirements. Perform RF testing and measurement to support component selection and system design. Perform analyses to predict installed antenna and RF system performance, identify interference concerns, and ensure RF safety. Draft installation and cutover plans for RF systems and assist with the installation and cutover. Meet with clients, prepare written technical reports, and deliver presentations to clients.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with RF systems engineering

-Experience with analyzing and implementing a variety of wireless communications technologies, including WiFi, land mobile radio (LMR), HF radio, and satellite communications

-Experience with using RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers and network analyzers

-Experience with configuring and deploying IP networking equipment, including routers and switches

-Experience with RF interference prevention and resolution

-Experience with installing, testing, and maintaining RF systems and equipment

-Ability to travel and perform work in challenging environments

-Ability to develop Python scripts in support of testing activities

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BS degree in EE, Physics, or Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

-8 years of experience in a related role

-Experience with Project 25 (P25) and other LMR technologies and equipment

-Experience with aviation and military tactical communications systems, including VHF/UHF AM, SINCGARS, EPLRS, SRW, WNW, ANW2, and related encryption systems

-Experience with public safety or aviation communications infrastructure and systems

-Experience in point-to-point microwave radio systems operating with IP and TDM technologies

-Experience with federal or non-federal spectrum allocation and frequency licensing and authorization processes, including FCC ULS and Spectrum XXI

-Experience with developing RF link budgets and designing antenna and transmission line systems

-Experience with modeling and simulating RF systems, including preparation of coverage analyses and GIS mapping

-Experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems
-MS degree in EE, Physics, or a related technical field
