Risk Analyst, Mid

Key Role:

Perform in a risk analyst role to support the Air Force in developing and implementing a risk management methodology to quantitatively assess and manage enterprise IT portfolio and enterprise-level risk, including developing a risk management plan, identifying risks, assessing and prioritizing risks, performing risk mitigation planning, and monitoring risk. Interface with the AF client offices, Enterprise IT Integrated Product Team (IPT) leadership, subject matter experts, portfolio managers, and program offices on risk management activities. Develop standardized, repeatable risk management methodology, including a risk model and risk assessment approach and risk measures and thresholds linked to the Enterprise IT strategic portfolio goals and performance metrics. Leverage industry best practices and lessons learned from Weapons System Sustainment (WSS) CAM Initiative to develop tailored risk measures, risk thresholds, and risk categories that measure portfolio-level and enterprise-level risk. Develop supporting tools, templates, and training to support the implementation of the risk management methodology and integration into the Enterprise requirements prioritization process. Establish a foundation for future state automated risk management processes, apply critical thinking, conduct gap analysis, and develop implementation plans for the improvement of the risk management program. Develop best practices and lessons learned to contribute to constant innovation and improvement.


Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience in a risk analyst role assessing enterprise risk, including financial risk, operational risk, or funding and investment risk for IT systems and portfolios for a DoD program

-2+ years of experience with risk or technical performance, including integrating performance measures with risk measures to manage risk and drive outcomes in a DoD program

-Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

-Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM)

-Ability to work in the Booz Allen office or with the client onsite in Arlington, VA

-Ability to travel up to 20% of the time to various CONUS Air Force bases

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with using enterprise risk management tools to identify, assess, prioritize, mitigate, and monitor risks, including the Air Force’s Active Risk Management (ARM)

-Experience with supporting risk management programs for Air Force or other DoD clients preferred

​-Ability to be a self-starter and thrive in a fast-paced environment

-Possession of excellent critical thinking, data gathering, data analysis, report writing, leadership, presentation, analytic, quantitative, time management, and consulting skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
