Robotics Engineer, Mid

Key Role:
Serve as a robotics engineer on a team conducting research, development, and technical assistance for DoD clients. Consult on the state-of-the-art in robotics research and technologies for a variety of clients. Serve on an interdisciplinary team developing novel prototypes of advanced custom robotic systems. Provide technical oversight for the design, integration, and evaluation of complex robotic systems. Interact directly with clients to provide technical expertise, identify technical challenges, analyze data, generate innovative solutions, and communicate results effectively.

Basic Qualifications:
-2+ years of experience with the research and development of small mobile robotic systems under 100lb
-2+ years of experience in robotics software development with languages common in robotics

-Knowledge of the state-of-the-art in robotic systems

-Ability to interact directly with clients to provide technical expertise, identify technical challenges, analyze data, and generate innovative solutions
-Ability to lead technical programs and work as part of a complex interdisciplinary team
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-MS degree required

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience in working with autonomous multi-robot teams of robots
-Experience with robotics hardware, mobile platforms, electronics, and sensors
-Experience with developing and implementing robotics algorithms
-Experience with developing collaborative or swarming behaviors and tactics
-Experience with working on interdisciplinary teams and collaborative software development efforts
-Experience with Linux and Robot Operating System (ROS)
-Knowledge of Agile software development and software development best practices
-Knowledge of version control software, including git and svn
-Knowledge of robotics modeling and simulation packages, including Simulink and Gazebo
-Knowledge of military strategy, operations, and tactics
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including communicating results effectively
-MS degree in CS, Computer Engineering, EE, Mechanical Engineering, or other robotics-related field preferred; PhD degree a plus
