Ruby On Rails Application Developer

We’re looking for a developer with the skills needed to build, test, and maintain applications utilizing Ruby on Rails and related technologies from vision to production-ready system.

This role is more than just coding. We need a full-stack developer who will use their passion to learn new tools and techniques and identify and implement system improvements. Using Ruby on Rails and related technologies, you’ll work with the development team to write unit tests and create and execute SQL and PostgreSQL queries to verify data and troubleshoot issues. You will also be responsible for assisting with the development of software technical documentation, including requirements specifications, design documents, and test plans. You’ll analyze the needs and the environment to make sure the solution you’re developing considers the current architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements. You Have:

-5+ years of experience in the software development field

-Experience with Ruby on Rails as a programming platform to develop multi-tier Web-based applications

-Experience with front-end Web development, including JavaScript and JQuery

-Experience with working in Agile and Kanban environments

-Experience with infrastructures, including AWS, Red Hat Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu, Apache, and Chef

-Experience with SQL coding and SQL statement optimization or tuning

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree

Nice If You Have:

-Experience with requirements management, including LeanKit

-Experience with Sublime Text, Atom, Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript

-Experience in working with proper Software Configuration Management (SCM) processes, using source code control, and change management software

-Experience with GIS functionality 

-Experience with version control, including Git and Github

-Experience with developing APIs and microservices

-Experience with testing tools, including Cucumber, Brakeman, and RSpec

-Knowledge of Ruby best practices

-Certified Scrum Developer (CSD)
