SATCOM Acquisition Systems Engineer

Key Role:

Provide system acquisition subject matter expertise to program staff in support of the wideband SATCOM team. Apply comprehensive knowledge of advanced planning activities, including system acquisition strategy development, requirements development, providing analytical support with budget, strategic communications, comprehending Risk Management Framework (RMF), cost estimating and contractual planning. Devise innovative strategies for providing management support in developing and responding to program data calls, white papers and requests for information from multiple sources related SATCOM systems. Use quantitative analytical techniques to develop strategic and program level acquisition and systems engineering plans and products. Provide input on strategic guidance on current and future SATCOM systems. Provide government leadership with action plans for strategic and tactical issue resolution.

Basic Qualifications:

-12+ years of experience working with and integrating the various segments of a DoD communications program in an acquisition environment

-Experience working with Army Communications programs

-Experience working with Army customers to enable acquisition-planning decisions

-Experience supporting the DoD acquisition, JCIDS, planning, programing, budget and execution (PPBE), and cost estimating processes

-Experience in writing and delivering technical documents and briefings

-Secret clearance

-BS degree in Math, Science, Engineering, or Business or 12+ years of experience supporting defense acquisition programs in lieu of a degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with communications systems, with a PEO C3T systems, preferred

-Experience with direct SATCOM

-Experience with DoD, Army and PEO C3T review and approval processes

-Experience working with multiple services and Joint programs, preferred

-Knowledge of RMF technology

-Possession of excellent oral and written communications skills

-Possession of excellent organizational skills

-Possession of excellent interpersonal skills to enable working, interfacing, and interrelating with diverse personnel and dynamic teams

-DAU Program Management Level 3 or Project Management Professional (PMP)
