SATCOM Systems Engineer, Mid

Key Role:

Join a team of satellite communications systems engineers and subject matter experts from other fields, including cost analysis, data science, DoD acquisition, and contracts, supporting acquisition, engineering, analysis, sustainment, and management of satellite communication systems within the DoD. Collaborate with colleagues to promote synchronization and synergies across multiple programs, including commercial satellite communications (SATCOM), SATCOM gateway sustainment and enhancement, and DoD Teleport. Assist senior colleagues and clients by contributing insightful thought leadership and subject matter expertise towards holistically addressing DoD interests and issues. Participate in authoring a range of engineering and related deliverables, including high–level architectures, concepts of operations, requirements development and decomposition, implementation guidance, program management plans, acquisition support documents, analysis and recommendation documents, and other assigned products. Support technical coordination across multiple government groups. Interact frequently with colleagues in presenting one's own progress and contributing feedback on teammates' draft work products. This position is located in Annapolis Junction, MD.

Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience with satellite or space communications systems engineering design or integration

-Experience with physical and data link layer SATCOM concepts, wideband military SATCOM satellites and related military or commercial terminals and modems, or the commercial SATCOM industry

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with DoD systems acquisition process and related documents

-Experience with wideband military or commercial SATCOM network resource management and planning

-Experience with IP networking in the context of satellite communications

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-MA or MS degree a plus
