Scheduling Project Director

Key Role:

Work as the project director for the Cerner Standalone Scheduling (CSS) team supporting the Veterans Administration's Electronic Health Records Modernization Program (EHRM). Maintain responsibility for facilitating and coordinating day-to-day activities with the program director and CSS teams. Assist with CSS implementation to meet programs goals, resource planning, monitoring, and reporting progress. Identify, remediate, and escalate operational challenges, gaps, risks and issues, and improvement opportunities to business operations council and program leadership. Guide detailed problem-solving and design-related discussions to achieve the preferred future state. Coordinate and collaborate with VISN site leadership and implementation teams. Maintain primary responsibility for program growth and provide complete oversight of program milestones to ensure the contractor team is meeting those goals. Lead the implementation of program goals, resource planning, monitoring, and reporting progress. 

Basic Qualifications:

-10 years of experience with managing teams

-Experience with Cerner Scheduling or VA Medical Appointment Scheduling System (MASS) 

-Experience with large-scale project management for IT and software deployments, including change and risk management

-Experience with presenting analytical findings to senior leadership

-Experience in engaging with executive- or senior-level officials

-BA or BS degree in Engineering, CS, Systems, or Business or 8 years of experience with managing teams in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with contractor management in the VA or another government organization
