Science and Technology Graphics and Communications Designer

Key Role:

Work closely with senior Booz Allen clients to communicate complex science and technology concepts in an engaging and accessible manner. Help convey and build support for high-level visions of the future US defense and semiconductor communities, including key audiences, such as US defense sector leadership, companies within the defense industrial base, non-defense commercial electronics enterprises, academic researchers, and the general public. Use effective graphics and story development tools to help message to and inform a range of audiences with different technical backgrounds. Work on illustrations, animations, videos, logos, Web solutions, and other state-of-the-art innovative graphics and visual products, as needed. Apply expertise in text, data, two-and three-dimensional graphics, typography, animation, illustration, and full-motion video, and strategic communications, both graphical and in prose.


Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with digital concept design and basic information design, including using Adobe Creative Suite products, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects

-Experience with technical or editorial writing and digital communications strategy, planning, and implementation
-Experience with freehand sketching

-Ability to be motivated and entrepreneurial-minded about applying creative concept design to many aspects of advanced technology research and development

-Ability to submit a portfolio of work

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree in Design or Journalism


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with working in a fast-paced, client-site environment

-Experience with Web media design, HTML5, WordPress, and event management platforms

-Experience with 3D modeling, animation, and motion graphics

-Experience with basic video production and editing

-Experience with exhibit design, event coordination and planning, or coordination of technical demonstrations for events

-Experience with emerging technical trends in the electronics and semiconductor fields
-Ability to use 3D software, including Lightwave, Cinema4D, or Maya
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
