Scrum Master, Mid

The Charleston Digital Hub of Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking qualified candidates for a Scrum Master in the Charleston, SC area. 

The Charleston Digital Hub is a software development hub of Booz Allen that operates and executes much like a fast-paced startup within the larger organization. What You’ll Do

-Coach, mentor, and provide guidance to scrum masters

-Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc)

-Be the heart and soul of your teams; keep them excited and focused around what is being delivered

-Keep a pulse on release progress and radiate information to project leadership

-Remove impediments proactively that would prevent your teams from achieving their sprint goals

-Collaborate with senior product owner and senior architect to ensure alignment on strategy and execution

-Facilitate interaction and appropriate communication  between scrum teams, architecture and UX

-Facilitate Agile trainings, as needed, within the Booz Allen Agile Coaching Community

-Identify and elevate performance issues through the appropriate channels

What You Need:

-3+ years of experience in working with the Agile framework in a systems development life cycle (SDLC) environment

-2+ years of experience with coaching, leading, or facilitating Scrum specific practices in an SDLC environment

-Experience with distributed development teams which span multiple geographies, time zones, and cultures

-Experience with software development and product ship cycles, including Scrum and Agile development techniques

-Experience with release planning and tracking and Agile using test driven development, automated testing, and continuous integration environments

-Knowledge of business functions and business operations, strategies, and objectives

-Ability to manage multiple teams and product roadmaps, recognize and perform timely impediment recognition and escalation, and display business judgment and proven expertise in directing the efforts of a technical staff

-Ability to ensure the product owner knows how to arrange the product backlog to maximize value and teach techniques for effective product backlog management

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree or 4 years of experience with software or engineering in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree

What Would be Nice:

-Experience with government contracts

-Experience with Agile facilitation, training, or public speaking

-Experience with coaching teams or Agile transformation

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent interpersonal, organizational, and team building skills

-MA or MS degree

-Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) Certification

-Agile PMI-ACP Certification
