Secure Infrastructure Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Document the existing network architecture and designs, present solutions and proposed changes, and partner with architecture, development, operations, and security teams. Plan, manage, and socialize all infrastructure engineering activities with security and performance in mind. Design, develop, release, and deploy the infrastructure services on UNIX-flavored platforms from inception to operations. Construct physical and virtual environments for developing and testing the infrastructure services involving client server and micro services architecture. Perform monitoring, administration, troubleshooting, and resolution of service network, storage, and compute nodes, ensuring extremely high availability rates. Coordinate with IT team members responsible for network engineering, business application, and database administration to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of apps to meet all objectives. Implement formal policies and procedures to ensure server and client systems performance, availability, and security.

Basic Qualifications:

-7+ years of experience with designing, procuring, implementing, and administering networking, storage, and compute infrastructure

-Experience with designing and managing VMware ESXi and vSphere environments

-Experience with monitoring tools, including Splunk, Elastic Stack, or SolarWinds

-Experience with implementing Infrastructure as Code (IAC) strategies

-Experience in Linux operating system at a highly proficient level

-Active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

-BA or BS degree

-DoD 8570 Compliant Certification

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Red Hat or CentOS preferred

-Experience with high volume, mission critical applications

-Experience with delivering IT services to software or hardware engineering teams while supporting SDLC, SaaS, Agile, and DevOps methodologies

-Experience with SaltStack or similar tools, including Ansible

-Experience with creating technical networking diagrams, both logical and physical

-Knowledge of Python or a other programming language

-Knowledge of open source tools

-Knowledge of threat modeling for the enterprise infrastructure and recommending security improvements

-Knowledge of ITIL and IT Service Management activities

-Ability to be self-sufficient, pay strict attention to detail, and display a drive to ensure high-quality deliverables

-Ability to strive for efficiency to prioritize and automate repetitive tasks and improve and mature processes consistently

-Possession of excellent organizational skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-IT Certifications, including RHCE, CCNA, or equivalent
