Security Cooperation Planner/Force Manager

Key Role: 

Conduct analysis, provide recommendations, and support staff planning for a US Marine Corps client's force synchronization and theater security cooperation requirements. Support component-level participation in Combatant Command and service force management conferences, working groups, and staff processes to align USMC activities with Joint and Service strategic objectives effectively and efficiently. Leverage the USMC client's playbook to create, track, and manage USMC force requirements in the theater. Provide recommendations for campaign planning documents and develop decision support products to inform senior leader decisions. Maintain responsibility for planning successful events and activities ranging from large international conferences, Joint and multi-lateral exercises and workshops, bi-lateral meetings, key leader engagement, and distinguished visitor visits. Coordinate and staff service component responses, conduct in-progress reviews, and participate in other battle rhythm events with geographic Combatant Command directorates, other components, USG and DoD organizations, European and African partner nations, and other stakeholders.  Develop materials to support engagement activities with African partner nations. 

Basic Qualifications: 

-3+ years of experience participating in the force management and synchronization processes

-3+ years of experience as the planner for multi-national security cooperation events requiring coordination with multiple organizations and departments 

-3+ years of experience as high-level USMC or other services' headquarters staff

-Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including SharePoint, developing PowerPoint slides, and presenting to senior leadership  

-Experience as a Defense Travel System (DTS) reviewing or approval official 

-Experience with managing an office battle rhythm, including personnel calendars, travel budget, service component or geographic component command taskers, and knowledge management

-Ability to manage the planning efforts of multiple events simultaneously 

-Active Secret clearance 

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications: 

-Experience as an Africa foreign area or regional affairs officer

-Experience with DoD, US Department of State, and international organizations 

-Experience with Africa-related travel 

-Knowledge of security cooperation authorities and terminology 

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills 

-Possession of excellent interpersonal and organizational skills 

-TS/SCI clearance preferred
