Security Operations Specialist

Key Role:

Maintain responsibility for assisting federal staff with the management of a facility security program, including the protection of an organization's personnel, facilities, and information. Analyze and implement organizational security policies and procedures that ensure the physical safety of sensitive information. Assist with the oversight and maintenance of the facility's daily physical security operations. Manage programs to ensure sufficient safeguards are in place to protect sensitive information, personnel, and property against unauthorized access, espionage, criminal activity, and other accidental or intentional abuses.

Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience as a clearable security contractor or government, military, or non-profit staffer, including working on physical security planning or program management in government, non-profit, or corporate environments

-Experience with developing key performance indicators to assess program efficiency

-Experience with developing and administering training and presentations to high-level representatives and stakeholders, writing security reports, coordinating the logistics of security and emergency tabletop exercises, and analyzing and implementing communication plans for targeted audiences designed to increase awareness and behavioral change

-Knowledge of the homeland security client’s applicable laws, rules, and regulations for personnel and physical security and developments within the security community

-Knowledge of the daily operations and logistics of a physical security program, including how to perform facility inspections, assessments, or investigations associated with physical security

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with developing and maintaining relationships with local, state, and federal organizations

-Ability to interpret government policies for the implementation of security plans and procedures

-Ability to review, implement, and make recommendations to process improvements based on previously conducted business process analyses

-Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a working environment

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-BA or BS degree in Criminal Justice, Political Science, or Communications
