Ship Acquisition Program/Military Technical Editor

Key Role:

Maintain responsibility for planning and managing a company’s resources to execute development project or project components from design phase through implementation. Interpret market requirements and convert them into program deliverables. Identify and communicate project scope and ensure program milestones and objectives are met. Ensure effective communication between technical and non-technical functions. Coordinate project schedules, monitor budgets, and assign tasks. Keep management informed on key issues and changes that may impact expected business results. Be exposed to some of the complex tasks within the job function and consult with senior staff members on technical issues, as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience with technical manual support for Navy acquisition programs or FMS cases

-Experience with technical writing conventions and standards, digital data development, production methodologies for creation and distribution of documentation in digital and paper mediums, and review and evaluation of complex technical manuals

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree
-Completion of formal education and training in DoN standards and procedures for writing and editing formal naval correspondence

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in supporting NAVSEA program offices with technical and general editing services for all correspondence, program office presentations, and program deliverables

-Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and priorities of the technical documentation field

-Knowledge of development and technical briefings in Microsoft Office, including Powerpoint, Excel, and Access
