Social Science Analyst, Senior

Key Role:
Lead cross-functional teams of social science researchers from across Booz Allen Hamilton to design, develop, and execute innovative solutions to help federal clients solve analytic and strategic problems. Develop meaningful and productive relationships with clients by embracing their missions and working collaboratively to ensure the delivery of high quality analytic work products. Provide oversight, support, and mentoring to junior analysts and consulting teams on statistical, economic, and analytical issues, including overseeing the development of study designs and sampling approaches, data access strategies, analytical work plans, SAS programming, and the interpretation and reporting of study results. Provide ad hoc statistical, economic, and analytical support to internal and external clients and provide subject matter expertise in DOL programs, systems, and data to support both business development and client delivery activities. Participate in regular project meetings and summarize and communicate analytic results to internal and external clients both in person and in writing. Demonstrate thought leadership on DOL public benefits and enforcement programs and advanced analytic techniques needed to drive evidence based policy making.

Basic Qualifications:
-Experience with analyzing Department of Labor (DOL) benefit and enforcement program policies and regulatory compliance issues
-Experience in a client advisory and leadership role
-Experience with building interdisciplinary teams around research projects
-Experience with managing, combining, and manipulating large administrative databases
-Experience with using statistical software packages and programming languages, including SAS, R, Python, and SQL
-Experience with designing studies, analyzing data, and reporting analytic results to both lay and technical audiences
-Experience with proposal writing
-Experience with writing and reviewing analytic research reports or publications
-MA or MS degree and 7 years of experience in a social science research analytic role

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience in working with DOL computing systems and data
-Experience with managing complex projects in a consulting environment, including identifying requirements, determining priorities, resolving issues, and managing client relations successfully
-Knowledge of DOL unemployment insurance policies related compliance issues
-Knowledge of the strategic priorities of the Wage and Hour Division, Mine Safety and Health Administration, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and how advanced analytics can support their enforcement activities
-Ability to show a history of publications evaluating DOL policy and programs
-MS degree in Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related social science or quantitative field preferred; PhD in Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related social science or quantitative field a plus
