Software Configuration Engineer

Key Role:

Maintain responsibility for configuration management (CM) of software for non-developmental items and operational systems for a major Army communications program. Work with program and contractor teams to create and maintain configuration baselines, including development, test, and production supporting the delivery of systems. Use or recommend automated CM tools to implement CM policies and procedures. Analyze CM plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the program. Implement CM discipline for the entire systems life cycle, from initial requirements or capabilities baselines to system end-of-life. Perform change control and configuration audits. Maintain responsibility for software engineering activities, including participating in Engineering Review Boards and interfacing with test teams, user communities, and vendors for software changes and builds.

Basic Qualifications:

-1+ years of experience with configuration management and software engineering, including configuration management of military software, such as source code, documentation, and fieldable products

-1+ years of experience with software architecture, development, or maintenance for major military programs

-Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project

-Knowledge of JIRA configuration management tool

-Active Secret clearance required

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with software development and testing in accordance with CMMI Level 3 and above

-Ability to multi-task and pay strict attention to detail

-Possession of excellent customer service and organizational skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
