Software Configuration Manager

Key Role:

Protect the integrity of a project’s delivered products, from code to technical documentation. Leverage modern configuration, application, and life cycle management tools and processes to maintain version control for software code, packages, libraries, containers, virtual machines, releases, and documents. Own the project’s configuration management plan, facilitate Configuration Control Boards, and establish the Configuration Management Library.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with developing or modifying SCM plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the developmental or operational system that implements embedded software

-Ability to maintain the CM environment for software product build, staging, testing, and integration

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or CS

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with identifying configuration items, implementing change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits

-Experience with software industry best practices, including Capability Maturity Model Integrated at Level 3 standards

-Experience with using software configuration management tools to manage baselines and support product release

-Knowledge of implementing CM discipline for the entire life cycle of systems from initial requirements and capabilities baselines to system end-of-life

-Knowledge of software configuration management tools and CM or release management best practices

-Ability to apply concepts and define and implement software configuration management processes and procedures, including creating product build scripts and procedures and integrating those scripts with the hardware and software build process

-Ability to work on teams to create and maintain software and documentation configuration baselines, including development, test, and production, track all problems and changes in product documents and software and reports changes, control standard operating procedures, and current configurations

-Secret clearance

-MA or MS degree in Software Engineering with course work related to software configuration management and release management
