Software Data Architect

Key Role:

Research, develop, and produce data standard specifications, IT system data models, and information exchange requirements, information exchange specifications, architectures, schema, and artifacts. Review IT system data model designs and make recommendations to ensure alignment with the DoD's net-centric data strategy to support the optimization of Joint, Coalition, and Interagency information sharing. Provide technical support to DoD data standards for working groups regarding migration strategies, system implementation, and configuration management. Advise on Command and Control data model strategies, architectures, and formats to support a Joint client.


Basic Qualifications:

-5 years of experience with software development

-3 years of experience with modeling and markup languages, including XML and JSON

-Experience with technical writing

-Knowledge of service-oriented architecture (SOA) and Web services

-Ability to develop and present executive-level briefings

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Microsoft Office

-Experience with data modeling, software development, and XML tools, including Altova XMLSpy, SQL Server, VMware ESXi, C#, Java, XSLT, XPath, Xlink, and Schematron

-Knowledge of the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM)

-Knowledge of DoD tactical data standards, including tactical datalinks and US message text format

-Secret clearance preferred

-BA or BS degree in Computer Engineering, CS, Systems Engineering, or Business Information Systems
