Software Engineer

Key Role:

Support software development. Develop solutions for mission problems using open source and GOTS tools. Ensure component development is done in a repeatable way using concepts that include containers. Develop all applications according to the organization’s coding standards and within the organization’s frameworks using PKI, database, Web development, and application security. Provide documentation and training for all components, as needed. Use sound software engineering principles to ensure all developed software is modifiable, efficient, reliable, comprehensible, and fault tolerant. 


Basic Qualifications:

-5 years of experience with object-oriented programming

-Experience with the development of new modules and maintenance of existing modules to support tools written in Java/C++, PHP, JavaScript, AJAX, and Apache Tomcat

-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

-BA or BS degree and 14 years of experience with software engineering or 18 years of experience with software engineering in lieu of a degree


Additional Qualifications:

-3 years of experience with SQL databases

-Experience with open source frameworks for containers, resource management, and messaging, including Kubernetes, Dockersh, Docker Compose, Logspout, Docker Swarm, or Google Container Engine

-Experience with DevOps techniques and tools, including continuous integration and deployment

-Experience with translating analytic needs into functional code

-Experience with one or more of the following languages: Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby

-Experience with Web development

-Experience with HTML, CSS, and Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP (LAMP)

-Experience with JavaScript or JQuery
