Software Tester, Mid

Key Role:
Perform analysis of documented user requirements and directs or assists in the design of test plans in support of user requirements for moderately complex to complex software and hardware applications. Review user application system requirements documentation, design, define, and document unit and application test plans, transform test plans into test scripts, and execute those scripts. Participate in all phases of risk management assessment and software and hardware development under the direction of a senior test engineer. Ensure proper execution of test scripts and documentation of test results in test logs or defect tracking systems. Ensure that the test designs and documentation support all applicable client, agency or industry standards, time lines, and budgets. Develop test data to be used in performing the required tests. Ensure that testing conclusions and recommendations are fully supported by test results and those project managers are fully informed or testing status and application deviations from documented user requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience in a professional work environment

-Ability to analyze test results, document conclusions, and make recommendations as supported by such analysis

-Secret clearance

-BS degree in CS or a Mathematics–intensive field

Additional Qualifications:

-Ability to develop a project software quality assurance plan and implement procedures that conform to the requirements of the contract

-Ability to verify that each functional component of the software project follows a defined process which is in conformance with contractual requirements

-Ability to report findings to project staff, line management of the organization, and the customer, as appropriate

-Ability to provide an independent assessment of how the project's software development process is being implemented relative to the defined process and recommends methods to optimize the organization's process
