Space Launch Mission Assurance Engineer, Senior

Key Role

Provide systems engineering and integration (SE&I) support to a key National Security Space (NSS) client. Develop and deliver risk assessments of technical issues affecting fleet–wide space launch vehicle hardware. Coordinate launch vehicle and space vehicle issues with the mission team to ensure documentation and resolution. Provide system safety input into the engineering design and acquisition process of launch services for new, enhanced, and upgraded payloads, including special access programs. Develop, maintain, and distribute programmatic support, including coordination, documentation, and product process reviews in support of mission assurance. Support Engineering Review Boards and provide evaluation of various technical issues and recommendations for resolution or risk reduction. Provide technical and administrative support to the development and maintenance of mishap investigation policies in the conduction of internal mishap investigations.


Basic Qualifications: 

-12+ years of experience with launch vehicle mission integration tasks and space vehicle design

-12+ years of experience with aerospace hardware or software systems engineering life cycle, including design, development, verification and validation, integration, test, and implementation management

-12+ years of experience with technical project management 

-12+ years of experience with engineering

-Knowledge of mission assurance systems and processes 

-TS/SCI clearance required 

-BA or BS degree required 


Additional Qualifications: 

-Experience with briefing and writing authoritative technical documents, including reports and position papers 

-Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook 

-Knowledge of the NSS client’s organizational structure 

-Ability to multi–task and adapt to changing priorities, procedures, and information technology tools 

-Ability to interact well with cross–functional team meetings and professional environments 

-Ability to interface with internal and external clients 

-Ability to perform analysis and assessment 

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills 

-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph preferred 

-BA or BS degree in Engineering or a technical, scientific, or related field
