Space/Satellite Systems Engineer

The Challenge:

Are you looking for an opportunity to combine your technical skills with big picture thinking to make an impact in the DoD Space Test Program? You understand your customer’s environment and how to develop the right systems for their mission. Your ability to translate real-world needs into technical specifications, makes you an integral part of delivering a customer focused engineering solution.


As a systems engineer on our team, you’ll assist with the development of space mission or space system technical requirements and the planning of government projects, including the development of concept of operation, acquisition strategy, and acquisition plan. Plan the oversight of space system development, integration, and test to verify progress, safety, and readiness. Perform engineering trade studies and analyses to facilitate program decisions. Perform mission payload matching to determine the best combination of compatible size, weight, and power requirements to support spacecraft manifest planning. Draft agreements that define mission roles, responsibilities, data deliverables, and timelines for a successful space mission. Review and assess contractor-produced deliverable for technical accuracy and completeness. You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience with USAF Space Acquisitions
  • Experience with developing concepts, early systems engineering, and soliciting concepts from industry and stakeholders
  • Experience with development planning, core function, and strategic plan
  • Secret clearance
  • BA or BS degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with DoD satellite programs
  • Experience with systems engineering
  • Experience with SMC acquisition or engineering  
  • Experience with program management

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
