Space Systems Engineering Subject Matter Expert

Key Role:

Apply expertise in engineering principles, criteria, and procedures to Air Force space systems, subsystems, and equipment procurement activities, post award project or program management tasks, and acquisition programs throughout their life cycles. Apply knowledge of engineering to organizing and managing the resources and personnel needed to accomplish USAF acquisition objectives consistent with DoD 5000.02 policies and procedures efficiently and effectively. Assist with execution of the USAF Airworthiness process per MIL-HDBK-516 and AF Life-Cycle Systems Engineering (LCSE) and Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) processes. Support requirements development, allocation, and verification. Review and evaluate DoD system design, analyses, and verification documentation and reports. Gather and develop the technical and business data necessary to build and present program briefs, as required.


Basic Qualifications:

-15 years of experience with DoD work

-5+ years of experience in a SAP or SCI environment

-Experience with developing ACAT I or equivalent space systems, including analyzing and executing a comprehensive, DoD- compliant program systems engineering process, developing and integrating Space Segments and Ground Segments into USAF infrastructure, and developing and implementing Interface Control documentation for space systems

-TS/SCI clearance

-MA or MS degree

-Chief Engineer Credential

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
