SQL Database Engineer

Key Role:

Architect, design, oversee the development of, and administer computerized databases, including installing the applicable databases onto the appropriate computer operating systems, creating and configuring databases for a data warehousing application, and using import utilities to install databases. Create indexes, clusters, snapshots, views, and other database objects and provide management for rollback segments, data file size, and all other aspects of the performance tuning of databases. Write code for update queries, update data dictionaries as new fields are added to the database, and maintain a data correction log. Create and maintain data correction logs that identify the date the correction that was performed, tables and fields affected, submissions affected, error codes affected, and other pertinent metadata. Expand and update the data dictionary for the database and any related applications. Assign personnel to various projects and direct their activities while reviewing and evaluating their work and preparing performance reports. Consult with and advise users of the various databases, projecting long-range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function.

Basic Qualifications:

-4+ years of experience with database systems and storage management

-2+ years of experience with SQL Server development

-Experience with relational databases, structured and unstructured data, streaming and batch data processing, ETL, data wrangling, data ingest, and data access

-Knowledge of database design and implementation tools, including entity-relationship data modeling and SQL

-Top Secret clearance

-HS diploma or GED
