Statistical Analysis System Programmer

Key Role:
Provide Statistical Analysis System (SAS) programming and technical expertise on statistical analysis, methods, and techniques for epidemiological or research studies. Collaborate with epidemiology and research teams and clinical investigators to determine study design, form analysis and data collection plans, and perform sample, size, and power calculations and stratification and randomization of studies. Comprehend medical data to the extent of being able to modify or clean data to prepare for analysis and use multiple SAS functions and procedures to restructure data. Read large SAS data sets, sort and merge data sets, and use SAS dates, macros, arrays, and formats. Program on PC and UNIX platforms. Write sections of protocols that require statistical input, establish data requirements, write applicable code, and deliver results. Maintain responsibility for ensuring the statistical validity and epidemiological applicability of study activities.

Basic Qualifications:
-2+ years of experience with using statistical analysis programs, including SAS, to conduct statistical analyses
-Experience with manipulating large, complex databases to track and evaluate patterns for healthcare or equivalent business processes
-Experience with managing projects in a consulting environment, including identifying requirements, determining priorities, and tracking and resolving issues
-Ability to apply and interpret analytical and mathematical tools through programming to address complex issues involving multiple table structures with complex query designs
-Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with advanced epidemiological and statistical modeling, including linear regression, logistic regression, Poisson regression, Cox proportional hazards regression, and other survival analysis
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-BA or BS degree in Statistics or Business, including the completion of 12 or more credit hours of statistics
-SAS 9 Certified Advanced or Base Programmer Certification
