Statistical Analytics and Healthcare Analytics Manager

Key Role:

Lead a cross functional consulting team in performing statistical analyses for Medicare programs with significant emphasis on Part D. Design, develop, and execute analytical solutions to derive business insights and solve the clients' operational and strategic problems. Provide oversight and support to junior analysts and the consulting team on statistical, economic, and analytical issues, including oversight of analytical work plans, SAS programming, and sampling specification. Provide ad hoc statistical, economic, and analytical support to clients for Parts C and D. Assist the consulting team with automating data load and data analysis programs with the goal of improving efficiencies for the client and the project. Participate in regular project meetings and summarize and communicate analysis results to both internal and external clients orally and in writing. Build internal team capabilities, demonstrate thought leadership in advanced analytics techniques and methods to better serve clients, and contribute to business and market development for the government and commercial civil markets.


Basic Qualifications:

-8 years of experience with statistical and analytic expertise

-Experience in a client advisory and leadership role

-Experience with SAS programming, including Base SAS, SAS and MACRO, SAS and STAT, and SAS and GRAPH Enterprise Guide

-Experience with performing data and statistical analyses, manipulation, and combining data sources using SAS, including analyzing a variety of large data sources, such as healthcare and plan databases, Medicare Parts A, B, C and D, and Medicaid claims, and beneficiary and utilization data

-Experience within health care, including in an analytic role within a commercial or civil health payer, health advocacy group, or applied analytics in health policy, manipulating complex data sources and file types, applying data cleaning and data quality techniques for error resolution, developing appropriate data models for Medicare and Medicaid policy, identifying trends and patterns in data, and applying relevant analytical and statistical methods to evaluate and solve client problems

-MS degree


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with database tools and SQL for data manipulation, aggregation, and validation a plus

-Experience with programming in Python, Java, VBA, or a similar language a plus

-Experience with CMS Computing Systems, including the Integrated Data Repository (IDR), CMS Mainframe, or the Virtual Research Data Center (VRDC)

-Experience with Part D claims, Prescription Drug Events (PDE), and Common Medicare Environment (CME) tables

-Experience with managing projects in a consulting environment, including identifying requirements, determining priorities, and tracking and resolving issues

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-SAS Certification a plus
