Statistical Geneticist, Junior

Key Role:

Use technical and analytical expertise to explore and examine data from multiple disparate sources with the goal of consulting on the design of inquiries that can provide a competitive advantage or address a pressing business problem by discovering patterns and previously hidden insights. Work under limited supervision. Apply broad domain expertise to comprehending data origins and context to ensure consistency of data, merge data sources together, and help others to gain a better comprehension of data.

Basic Qualifications:
-Experience with common open source genomic analysis tools, including PLINK, Eigensoft, and Impute2
-Knowledge of biostatistics and quantitative expertise
-Knowledge of common programming languages, including Perl, Python, R, and SAS
-Ability to comprehend scientific literature, analytic methods, and their limitations
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-MA or MS degree in Statistical Genetics, Quantitative Genetics, Genetic Epidemiology, Molecular Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or Bioinformatics and 3 years of experience with genome-phenome research studies or PhD or ScD degree in Statistical Genetics, Quantitative Genetics, Genetic Epidemiology, Molecular Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or Bioinformatics

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with programming in a UNIX or Linux environment
-Experience with data formats and analysis tools for whole exome sequencing or whole genome sequencing
-Experience in working with controlled vocabularies and conducting large-scale PheWAS analysis
-Experience with rare variant tests, including SKAT
-Experience with array-based analysis, gene expression analysis, machine learning methods, data mining, and statistical modeling
-Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Word Documents, and Project
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including clearly and concisely communicating complex concepts to clients, researchers, and onsite staff
-Secret clearance
