Strategic Communications and Behavior Consultant

Key Role:

Deliver strategic communications to federal agencies supporting community resiliency and disaster management missions, including driving organizational and individual behavior change to promote stronger communities. Provide leadership, counsel, and project management support in a range of areas, including strategic communications planning, program development, digital communications, materials development, media relations, campaign evaluations, and stakeholder outreach. Lead a contract team by analyzing the development and implementation of communication plans, messages, materials, and program strategies to reach diverse audiences. Serve as an advisor to the client, including supporting strategic discussions and problem solving, including communications planning, integration and implementation of media and digital strategies to increase awareness, and usage of client resources and materials. Leverage expertise in cross-functional teamwork and work independently and in small teams of consultants and government clients. Manage programs and analyze budgets with scope and schedules in mind. Manage, mentor, and grow junior staff.

Basic Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience with strategic communications, social marketing, behavior change, change management, or stakeholder engagement

-Experience with community resiliency or disaster management communications campaigns and activities

-Ability to think creatively and provide innovative solutions to clients’ communications challenges or problems

-Ability to motivate and lead a project team, inspire teamwork, and drive projects to successful completion

-Ability to analyze budgets for multiple tasks

-BA or BS degree

 Additional Qualifications:
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including interacting with all company and client levels effectively
-Possession of excellent organizational, project management, negotiation, strategic thinking, analytical, and business development skills, including proposal writing and management

-BA or BS degree in Communications or a related field preferred; MA or MS degree a plus
