Strategic Communications Specialist

Key Role:

Prepare publication materials, employee communications, newsletters, bulletins, and informational materials for internal or external audiences. Provide strategic guidance to the client leadership and work directly with the external affairs government lead and partner offices across the Command and Navy landscape. Analyze and synchronize strategic communications initiatives and streamline and improve communications standards, guidelines, processes, and procedures. Review and evaluate the effectiveness of these initiatives. Analyze a variety of materials, including speeches, PowerPoint presentations, official correspondence, fact sheets, and online content. Work independently and lead staff in day-to-day tasks, including media outreach, Web and social media updates, public relations issues, and collateral development. Perform quality assurance reviews on written products. Compose, coordinate, and consolidate recurring reports and work products.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with Microsoft Office

-Knowledge of Web and social media campaigns and public relations issues

-Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple assignments from conception to completion on deadline 

-Ability to follow communications standards, guidelines, processes, and procedures

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with government consulting or contracting

-Possession of excellent oral and written communications skills, including editing, presentation, creative, and promotional expertise

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree in Communications or Journalism preferred
