Structural Engineer

Key Role:

Maintain responsibility for providing technical expertise and advice on structural designs and evaluate the ability of critical assets to survive various threats and hazards by conducting analyses of the response of structures that house and protect critical assets and the client’s supporting infrastructures and contents to diverse threats and hazards. Evaluate structure types and threat levels. Leverage expertise as a structural engineering and protection specialist and offer knowledge of military construction and standards, including secure works, such as SCIF. Maintain responsibility for identifying all aspects of structural related issues and provide recommendations to mitigate or eliminate identified vulnerabilities.

Basic Qualifications:

-10 years of experience with operations in the military or other comparable civilian position in a structural or civil engineering role
-Experience with US Air Force Command and Control
-Experience with developing military construction documents, including DD1391s, white papers, and briefs

-Knowledge of regulations and requirements outlined in the US Army Corporations of Engineers (USACE) directives, including the unified facility criteria related to the DoD minimum standoff distance and security engineering design manuals
-Ability to determine effects of blast, damage assessment, and physical barriers to mitigate blast affects

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BS degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
-Active Professional Engineer License required

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with conducting military construction work in South Korea

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-TS/SCI clearance preferred

-MS degree in Civil Engineering
