Survey Operations General Manager

Key Role:

Maintain oversight and responsibility for complex or high risk programs or projects. Lead a team through all phases, including concept, development, implementation, and closeout. Oversee the work breakdown structure, critical path, and change control. Supervise firm staff and manage budget, schedules and project operations. Ensure required resources are available. Liaise with the program or project sponsor, customers, and other stakeholders. Maintain primary responsibility for program growth.

Basic Qualifications:
-15+ years of experience with survey operations or social sciences

-Experience with leading business development and capturing efforts in winning survey projects funded by federal and private sector clients, including assisting with business development activities, such as developing whitepapers, identifying future opportunities, managing and overseeing large-scale and complex surveys, and working with data collection vendors directly to conduct survey research across modes of surveys

-Experience with designing and implementing quality control protocols to ensure vendors are collecting data accurately

-Knowledge of the operational aspects of survey research for online, phone, mail, and mixed mode surveys

-Ability to identify, vet, negotiate with, and maintain relationships with data collection vendors

-PhD degree in Social Science

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with creating specifications, soliciting bids, and pricing data collection activities for surveys

-Knowledge of the data security needs of government and healthcare research

-Ability to document data collection process and assist proposal teams with describing data collection protocols, consulting on best practices, working to improve data collection protocols to gain efficiency, and ensuring vendors have complete comprehension of the project requirement

-Ability to train and manage junior staff to manage individual surveys, test surveys, review materials, and monitor field work efforts

-Ability to assume ultimate responsibility for resolving data collection problems and ensuring data is collected accurately
