Job Description

Job Number: R0042708

Survivability Analyst

The Challenge:

What if you could use your engineering skills to transform United States Strategic Command’s (USSTRATCOM) command, control, and communications (C3) architecture? As an electrical engineer or physicist, you understand the power behind complex systems and the impacts of electromagnetic interference on those systems. That knowledge is key when it comes to providing subject matter expertise and fulfilling the personnel requirements of assessment teams that travel within and outside the continental United States in support of DoD requirements. We’re looking for an electrical engineer or physicist who can utilize their skills to complete detailed survivability assessments on assets that directly support USSTRATCOM’s UCP-assigned missions. As a subject matter expert, and with a dynamic assessments schedule, team members can expect to travel between 25-35 percent of the time.

Our team assesses the impacts of natural or man-made Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) effects on critical systems and infrastructure. That’s why we need you, an electrical engineer or physicist, to conduct pre-assessment research and analysis of each site's principal missions, commercial power and utility topology to the installation and site-of-interest, structure and construction, prior survivability assessments, and other aspects that impact overall survivability. With a solid background in electromagnetic wave propagation theory, we need you to help us create detailed post-assessment notes and analysis as well as develop detailed client assessment reports. Your knowledge and experience will directly impact the survivability of USSTRATCOM’s C3 capabilities by identifying critical capability gaps and recommended solutions. We’ll look to you to share your engineering or scientific expertise through the leadership and mentoring of junior staff. This is a chance to utilize your experience-based knowledge in assessing the design, testing, and maintenance of mission critical electrical systems while broadening your skillset into areas like nuclear effects protection and mitigation techniques. Join us and take on exciting challenges in C3, as we support this unique warfighter mission.

Empower change with us.
