System Administrator, Mid

Key Role:

Maintain responsibility for maintaining and troubleshooting multiple operating systems and applications individually and as part of a team. Monitor server performance on a daily basis and communicate and troubleshoot incident responses effectively. Maintain and improve automation. Conduct regularly scheduled vulnerability remediation, upgrades, patching, and perform and analyze security evaluations. Troubleshoot and effectively communicate reported issues and bugs. Provide mentorship and training to junior staff. Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with the organization’s objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience as a system administrator or system engineer

-Ability to troubleshoot, communicate, and mentor clients and team members

-Ability to research, implement, and document complex troubleshooting steps to resolve issues

-Ability to build, configure, maintain, and improve servers within compliance

-Top Secret clearance required

-HS diploma or GED required

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Windows or Linux servers, including installing and maintaining applications, troubleshooting, reviewing logs, and patching

-Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including launching servers and creating and maintaining ec2 instances, snapshots, AMIs, RDS, S3 buckets, IAM permissions, and VPC networks

-Experience with scripting in PowerShell, Bash, or Python

-Experience with Active Directory, DNS, GPO, IIS, SQL, SharePoint, Apache, Tomcat, Postfix, Big-IP F5, Hadoop, Splunk, HBSS, or ACAS

-Knowledge of basic SharePoint usage, including creating and maintaining SharePoint sites and content

-Knowledge of information security, including systems and network security, best practices, documentation, and user authentication

-Knowledge of DoD security compliance auditing, DoD hardening, STIGs, and PKI

-BA or BS degree in CS, Information System, or Engineering

-8570 Certification, including Security+, Net+, and A+
