System Administrator/Systems Engineer

Key Role:

Analyze local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, and selecting operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with switches, routers, and other devices. Resolve interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms, including file transfer, multimedia, and virtual environments. Participate in recommendations for hardware and software purchases and maintain the integrity and security of servers and systems under limited supervision. Serve as a front line interface to users with technical issues, as needed and support systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies. Provide daily operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for the server, storage, and network devices in both Windows and Linux environments. Optimize system operations and resource usage and perform system capacity analysis and planning. Provide system security updates, create system accounts, and be the first responder to system outages. 

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with networking covering switching and routing

-5+ years experience with installing, troubleshooting, and debugging computer systems 

-Experience with supporting DoD programs

-Knowledge of network security

-Active Top Secret clearance required

-BA or BS degree in Engineering or CS or 8 years experience in systems administration

Additional Qualifications:

-Knowledge of virtual environments

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-TS/SCI clearance preferred

-Security + Certification

-Cisco Certified Network Associate or CompTIA Network+ Certification
