System Administrator

Key Role:

Work as part of a dynamic team, providing systems administration specializing in the management and operations of a virtualized environment running on Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) systems in client support. Maintain responsibility for daily monitoring and maintenance activities, including user administration, backup and recovery strategy, and event tracking for production, testing, and development systems on Linux, Windows and VMware and Oracle hypervisors. Ensure normal maintenance functions are performed properly and execution of daily and weekly system health checks and record system audit log reviews, as required. Coordinate efforts with other work centers and personnel to resolve incidents related to systems and supporting infrastructure. Maintain responsibility for implementing and maintaining security standards, including addressing any vulnerabilities that occur during monthly, quarterly and yearly security scans.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience in IT role
-4+ years of experience of Red Hat Linux, Windows Server, VMWare or OracleVM administrative
-Experience with installing, configuring, administrating and patching industry leading and recognized COTS and open source applications
-Experience with writing Shell scripts and other scripting languages
-Ability to obtain a security clearance 
-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience in virtualized environments, including VMware as a Linux system administrator, including supporting a large enterprise
-Experience with setting up SAN storage
-Experience with setting up virtual environments
-Experience with information assurance technical framework

-Experience with installing, configuring and managing Application Servers 

-Experience operating across multiple tasks, working independently, and contributing to deliverables and performance metrics  

-Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, including Windows 2008 and higher, Linux or UNIX operating systems, storage and backup technologies, and SCCM patch management solutions
-Knowledge of the systems engineering process (SEP)
-Ability to quickly adapt to new situations, work in a team environment, to work with minimal supervision, and to learn new technologies

-Possession excellent oral and written communication skills 

-Bachelors degree in CS or IT, preferred
