System Architect

Key Role:

Design and define system architecture for new or existing systems, including working with the product groups to define the physical and logical architectures of the components within the system. Determine systems specifications, input and output processes, and working parameters for hardware and software compatibility while maintaining overall operational system security. Coordinate the design of subsystems and integration of total system. Identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies. Develop and recommend corrective actions. Develop and maintain reference architecture to provide technical guidance for systems engineering, platform integrator's, and software developers.


Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience in DoDAF architecture, business modeling, and process model with business modeling tools, including System Architect, ProVision, and Visio

-Experience with supporting US Air Force logistics business information system projects

-Experience with the development of system reference architecture strategy based on a situational awareness of business and system scenarios, requirements, and mission factors

-Experience with applying a structured approach and methodology in the development of an enterprise system architecture

-Experience with presenting, briefing, or communicating analytical material

-Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

-Ability to apply strategic thinking and leadership to contribute toward big picture strategy and solutions to complete and deliver tasks

-Ability to verify stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of system architecture

-Ability to obtain a security clearance required

-BA or BS degree


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations

-Experience with the identification of system data, hardware, or software components required to meet user needs

-Experience with evaluating analytically and systematically problems of work flows, organization, and planning, and developing appropriate corrective actions

-Ability to design and develop solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns

-Ability to collaborate with engineers or software developers to select appropriate design solutions or ensure the compatibility of system components

-Ability to communicate with staff or clients to comprehend specific system requirements

-Ability to develop system engineering, software engineering, system integration, or distributed system architectures

-Ability to establish functional or system standards to ensure operational requirements, quality requirements, and design constraints are addressed

-Ability to investigate system component suitability for specified purposes and make recommendations regarding component use

-Ability to work as a team lead or member to evaluate and make tactical and strategic recommendations for the system architecture, architecture of the hardware, communications, data security, messaging, applications, office automation, printing, administration, support, performance, and availability

-Active Secret clearance preferred

-BA or BS degree in a technical field preferred
