Systems Acquisition Manager, Senior

Key Role:

Assist a US Air Force Major Command (MAJCOM) Logistics Plans Division in planning and managing the acquisition and fielding of Deployable Air Base System (DABS) kits. Maintain responsibility for providing acquisition expertise to the MAJCOM client on the planning, budgeting, programming, acquisition, time phasing and execution for DABS kits in the theater, and coordinating the acquisition of DABS kits ensuring efforts are fully integrated into and supported by the processes and procedures of appropriate Headquarters USAF (HAF), Pacific Air Forces (PACAF), Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC), and Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) offices, and associated Numbered Air Forces (NAFs), Agencies, Centers, Wings, Groups, and Squadrons. Provide project management support for DABS-related programmatic tasks and conduct a comprehensive DABS equipment requirements analysis to validate the existing knowledge base and documentation. Validate and finalize the DABS Equipment List, advocate and coordinate inputs for the DABS to AF-Enterprise level programming and funding processes, including coordination with Program Element Managers (PEMs) across the Air Force responsible for Program Element Codes (PECs) containing DABS equipment. Conduct research and analysis in support of the development and validation of a DABS Implementation Plan (I-PLAN). Support implementation of the DABS I-PLAN as directed by the MAJCOM client and support DABS briefings and reports by gathering information, preparing charts, presenting briefings, and providing other support, as needed.


Basic Qualifications:

-7 years of experience with DoD or USAF enterprise procurement actions

-Experience in acquisition project or program management with an AF client

-Experience in the DoD acquisition and life cycle management process, policies, and procedures

-Experience in working with USAF contracting

-Ability to travel internationally

-Active Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree or 7+ years of experience with DoD project management, procurement, and acquisitions actions


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in working with Headquarters USAF (HAF), Pacific Air Forces (PACAF), Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC), and Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC)

-Experience in acquisition program management policies and procedures to the DABS project throughout its life cycle management

-Knowledge of USAF logistics concepts, policies, and procedures, including life cycle management, USAF equipment management, pre-positioning (PREPO), or War Reserve Materials

-Possession of excellent teamwork and collaboration skills 
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
