Systems Engineer/Architect, Mid

Key Role:

Apply knowledge of the systems engineering discipline across one or more components of the system development life cycle (SDLC), including concept development, technical planning, requirements development or management and validation, optimization, process improvement, system design, system analysis, system acquisition, system development, integration, verification, transition, operations, obsolescence, and disposal. Deliver products and services to government clients in the field of Directed Energy using knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). Collaborate within a team environment while emphasizing individual work and contributions to produce state-of-the-art model-based capabilities. Design and develop system architectures using the MagicDraw tool, including requirements, structural, and behavioral models. Define key capabilities and performance requirements, define system implementation approaches and operational concepts, develop internal and external block diagram interface architectures of system and sub-systems, and flow top level functional requirements through the model using use case, activity, and sequence diagrams. Participate in program integrated product teams (IPTs) and drive the proper application of systems engineering processes, including milestone design reviews, System Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events, SE process documentation, systems engineering plans, configuration management, and integration and test plans.


Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with systems engineering

-Knowledge of systems engineering planning and system engineering technical review (SETR) processes

-Knowledge of MagicDraw with Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF)

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree in Engineering, Technology, or Science


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with the US Navy

-Experience with using IBM Rational DOORS

-Knowledge of systems integration and testing

-Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment with peers and leadership

-Ability to interact effectively with individuals of different experience levels and backgrounds, including government and external industry personnel

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-MA or MS degree in an engineering field or a related technical or scientific field

-Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification


Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
