Systems Engineer

Key Role:

Perform complicated and difficult software or systems design engineering assignments requiring a high degree of technical competence reflecting current state-of-the-art applications. Maintain technical responsibility for planning, organizing, and conducting technical projects in the design and development of computer systems hardware and software. Conceive and plan projects involving the assessment of basic architecture and current hardware limitations, definition, and selection of new concepts and approaches, design, development, and implementation of non-routine major software engineering applications, the analysis and investigation of major software engineering project tasks, the definition of complex design specifications and parameters, development and application of major routines and utility programs, resolutions of difficult hardware or software compatibility and interface design considerations, analysis of system architecture requirements and structures, and the like. Conduct independent technical investigations in software or systems design, coordinate and consolidate design efforts on major projects, and prepare design specifications, analysis, and recommendations for presentation and approval.

Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience with requirements gathering and management

-3+ years of experience with system architecture and engineering, IT systems design, testing, IT COTS software, or hardware integration

-Experience with developing technical specifications and standards while working with clients on Cyber capabilities

-Knowledge of a range of software development processes, including Waterfall, Iterative, and Agile

-Secret clearance required

-BA or BS degree required

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Open Architecture concepts and patterns

-Experience with industry life cycle management processes, including Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)

-Experience in DoD, Air Force, and other US government clients

-Experience with large-scale complex DoD architectures

-Knowledge of rapid deployment methodologies and best practices

-Knowledge of product or defense acquisition process and strategy DoD 5000.x, including product life cycle, supply chain management, and DoDAF products

-Ability to create development system design and architecture artifacts
