Technical FX Artist

Key Role:

Serve as a technical effects (FX) artist and solve complex issues. Create and animate engaging FX and 3D content for video games for training. Work closely with a diverse team of artists, programmers, instructional designers, and game designers to bring content to life for eBooks, PC applications, and immersive VR experiences for training. Tackle complex problems, learn new software, and find solutions within a game engine.

Basic Qualifications: 

-3+ years of experience with technical art in Unity or an equivalent game engine

-2+ years of experience with using source control, including Perforce, SVN, Plastic, or equivalent

-2+ years of experience with FX for games and fluid simulations 

-2+ years of experience with Maya and Adobe After Effects or Houdini, 3DS Max, or equivalent

-2+ years of experience with lighting and light baking for environments in a game engine

-Experience with 3D modeling and the high to low poly baking workflow 

-Experience with PBR texturing, including Substance Painter, Quixel, or equivalent

-Ability to provide a link to a strong portfolio showcasing game engine and FX work

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-HS diploma or GED required

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with shader creation in Substance Designer, Shader Forge, Unreal Engine, or equivalent

-Experience with World Machine or equivalent terrain creation 

-Experience with the Mecanim system in the Unity game engine or equivalent

-Experience with visual storytelling through real-time cinematic sequences  

-Experience with scripting in Maya and Unity, including Python, MEL, C#, or C++

-Experience with character rigging in Maya
