Test Engineer, Lead

Key Role:

Document, analyze, perform, and interpret developmental tests for new or modified systems. Investigate and resolve operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel. Provide technical support and advice to other engineering groups. Guide and direct junior personnel on test setup and performance. Analyze and apply testing procedures. Participate in the development, maintenance, and refinement of internal quality control and reliability programs. Act as a liaison for other departments, divisions, and organizations. Evaluate progress and results and recommend major changes in procedures. Engage with technical experts from the DoD client, cross-domain solution (CDS) vendors, and program management offices (PMOs) to support lab-based security assessments (LBSA) for CDSes. 

Basic Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience with systems engineering, including integrating various engineering disciplines into a single project

-3+ years of experience with analyzing both high level and low level problems to determine the best or most reasonable course of action in a rapid amount of time

-Experience with developing and reviewing technical documentation for analysis reporting

-Knowledge of the DoD risk management framework (RMF)

-Knowledge of NIST 800-53

-Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and lead or direct projects, as needed

-Ability to summarize complex ideas and concepts into easily digestible content focused on the highest impact or most relevant results

-Ability to provide technical oversight and guidance for all client efforts and provide technical insights to advance the team’s depth of testing, including penetration testing, malware, policy bypass, steganography, mandatory access control (MAC) and discretionary access control (DAC) analysis, and subsets of NIST 800-53 controls

-Active Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree in CS, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with analyzing and organizing test plans and procedures

-Experience in software development or software design with CDS

-Knowledge of control system and signal analysis principles, including discrete or fast Fournier transformations or finite impulse response filtering

-Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills

-Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification a plus
