Key Role:
Work on a team to support Air Force installation planning. Analyze Air Force capacities and capabilities across its portfolio of installations on data regarding airfields, facilities, ranges, and base operating support. Assist with identifying a candidate list of installations for mission bed-downs based on the scoring of installation capacities and capabilities. Perform site surveys on installations to validate and gather additional data. Site new construction opportunities based on installation constraints in instances of no existing infrastructure capacities. Define requirements and select approaches and leverage multiple analytical platforms for analysis. Interface with Air Force clients daily. This position is located in San Antonio, TX.
Basic Qualifications:
-4+ years of experience in the regional, community planning, civil engineering, or legislation fields
-Experience with DoD comprehensive planning
-Knowledge of Air Force planning and programs, sustainable communities, comprehensive planning, regional planning, and land use planning required
-Experience with working in an administrative capacity, including developing reports and presentations and analyzing data
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-BA or BS degree required
Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with Special Use Airspace (SUA), the Military Training Route (MTR), and Military Ground Range planning and analysis
-Experience with the military preferred
-Knowledge of Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 3-260-01, Airfield and Heliport Planning
-Knowledge of Air Force Manual (AFMAN) 32-1084, Facility Requirements and Air Force Instruction (AFI) 32-7062, and comprehensive planning
-Ability to use data visualization platforms, including Tableau, Power BI, ESRI, AutoCAD, or Infraworks
-MA or MS degree in Urban Planning, Geographic Information Science and Technology, or a related field preferred
-American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) or Geospatial Information Systems Professional (GISP) Certification
