User Experience Researcher

Key Role:

Identify business and user needs and translate them into relevant, elegant, powerful experiences that cultivate engagement and adoption. Conduct user research and communicate research insights and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear, compelling way. Support the delivery of UX work within the federal government and commercial sectors across product, service, and organizational levels.


Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience as a UX researcher, usability lab manager, usability specialist, or an equivalent UX role

-Experience with user research and user testing methodologies

-Experience with best practices for information architecture and interaction design, the user-centered design process, and UX principles and techniques

-Experience with the process for researching and creating the following UX artifacts: heuristic site reviews and usability evaluations, user and stakeholder interviews, personas and journey maps, process and task flows, sitemaps and navigation schemes, wireframes and interactive prototypes, and client engagement and presentations

-Knowledge of prototyping software, including Axure and Sketch

-Knowledge of Section 508 Compliance and accessibility best practices

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in working with teams across a variety of software development processes, including Agile, Waterfall, and Lean

-Experience with working across a creative team of researchers, designers, developers, and data analysts

-Possession of excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, including multi-tasking on multiple projects simultaneously
