Visual Designer, Senior

Key Role:
Leverage artistic direction, expertise in consulting, and technical knowledge to support a NASA client in improving overall visual messaging and strategy. Present recommendations to the internal team and the client, clearly articulating the solution concepts. Participate in a collaborative team environment in dynamic client project environments. Design and develop complex graphics and illustrations for use in marketing materials, branding, exhibits, and the Internet at agency and directorate levels. Develop custom design packages for high-level agency and directorate presentations that contain original artistic design elements to enhance the speaker’s message to their target audience. Design exhibits from conception to installation while managing production costs and meeting target deadlines. Collaborate regularly with print specialists, vendors, and client leadership to produce visually engaging exhibits.

Basic Qualifications:

-10+ years of experience in the design field, including designing and developing graphics for print, Web, and exhibits

-Experience in complex tasks with daily client interaction, developing a visual identity for senior-level leaders in an organization, and identifying and implementing industry best practices

-Experience with working under pressure and creating conceptually sound visual designs

-Knowledge of the elements and principles of print and Web design, including the importance of excellent typography

-Ability to conceptualize illustrations and information design and follow through to the finished product

-HS diploma or GED required

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop

-Knowledge of basic Web design, including HTML and CSS

-Knowledge of print production

-Knowledge of NASA and the government environment

-Possession of excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
