Enterprise Data Architect

Key Role:

Define and champion the enterprise data architecture vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned to business goals. Lead database management and enterprise architecture teams and evaluate emerging technologies. Establish and enforce enterprise data governance, modeling standards, cleansing procedures, and best practices to ensure data quality, consistency, security, and accessibility. Lead the design and implementation of the Enterprise Data Model and Operational Data Store (ODS) strategy. Reduce redundancy and standardize data across domains. Own the full lifecycle of data architecture solutions—from platform selection and design to implementation, testing, performance auditing, and continuous improvement. Spearhead phased migration from legacy Sybase to AWS microservices architecture, maintaining data synchronization using AWS Aurora PostgreSQL, DMS, Lambda, and domain-based transition strategies. Serve as the primary liaison between business, product, and engineering teams, translating requirements into scalable architectures and clearly communicating data solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, database design, and administration

  • Experience with data modeling tools, such as ER/Studio, ERWIN, or PowerDesigner

  • Experience with AWS technologies, including Aurora, RDS, DMS, and Lambda

  • Experience in planning and executing phased migrations, ensuring synchronization between old and new systems

  • Knowledge of Sybase or PostgreSQL platforms

  • Knowledge of relational DBMS and SQL

  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and its implementation

  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail 

  • HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in an Agile and DevOps enterprise environment using Atlassian tools, such as Jira or Confluence

  • Experience with database-related project management

  • Experience with innovative approaches to data synchronization during phased migrations

  • Experience in cloud services and solutions, database development, analytical sciences, information technology governance, information security, information technology resource management, business case development, business process design, strategic planning, and business functions 

  • Ability to present solutions precisely to various levels of management and work across different groups as well as perform limited project management to implement the proposed solutions 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred; Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field a plus 

  • Database and Project Management Certifications

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
