We’re looking for a systems administrator who specializes in installing systems on dedicated infrastructure, ensuring the infrastructure is functional and available, updating and patching critical systems. Identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement, in a mission-critical network.
As a Linux System Engineer on our project, you’ll constantly look for ways to make the infrastructure better using the latest technology and the best implementation strategies. You’ll provide your customers insight into their network through monitoring and performance management. Your technical expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission critical network. You’ll help your team better understand the network by turning metrics into information and explaining their meaning. We focus on growing as a team, so you’ll share your expertise through leadership and mentoring as you help the team work through challenges and develop new methodologies. As a technical leader, you’ll identify new opportunities to modernize the network and help your customers meet their needs. You Have:
10+ years of experience with systems administration
5+ years of experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS
Experience with managing virtual machines and VMware ESXi
Knowledge of Linux firewalls, networking configuration, and DNS
Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
HS diploma or GED
Ability to obtain DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II Compliant certification within 60 days of start date
Nice If You Have:
Experience with AWS
Experience with managing systems using Infrastructure as Code technologies, including Salt, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Terraform
Knowledge of bi-directional network transfer systems
TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
Bachelor's degree in IT
DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II Compliant certification
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $93,300.00 to $212,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.Work Model
