Network Engineer

The Opportunity:

As a Network Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our customers' network infrastructure communication systems. You will analyze system requirements and lead design, development, and implementation activities. You will incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations. You'll install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software components, including routers, and switches. You'll monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve network issues and vulnerabilities. You'll manage network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures. You'll provide technical support and guidance to customers, assisting with network-related issues and inquiries. The position will align you to keep up to date on emerging network technologies and industry trends and implement STE/STN requirements to enhance network performance and security.

You will be at the forefront of developing and enforcing security protocols for secure, multi-party capabilities for users across various domain classifications.  Working with various users to collect requirements for data centers and deployments, you'll assist with building, configuring, and testing each system and hardware suite prior to shipment and implementation. You will be involved in creating and updating documentation to include post installation documentation packages, installation guides, configuration guides, technical reports, and presentation materials. As capabilities are implemented in our production environment, you will contribute to the extended phases of monitoring, sustainment, and contribute to process improvement. You Have:  

  • 5+ years of experience in programs and contracts supporting Information Technology

  • 1+ years of experience working with the Federal government

  • Knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and security principles

  • Ability to configure and troubleshoot network devices and technologies, including Cisco, Arrcus, or Aruba

  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

  • HS diploma or GED and 12+ years of experience with network engineering support, Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience with network engineering support, or Master's degree and 3+ years of experience with network engineering support

  • CCNA or CCNP Certification

  • Ability to obtain a Security+ certification within 90 days of start date

Nice If You Have:   

  • Knowledge of network monitoring tools and methodologies, such as WUG

  • Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Possession of excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related field

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
